Adult World's strengths lie in its side characters and plot tangents...

There’s potential for a great coming-of-age film here...innocuously entertaining...

Best of all is Cusack, whose strong comic timing elevates every scene he’s in.

There’s something so overblown about Amy’s character that it feels real, and Roberts’ endearing, wholehearted embrace of her is refreshing.
