The seas of Arabia are alive with carnivores. Sharks and rays patrol the coral reefs hunting down their prey. Toxic fish disguise themselves to ambush the unwary and bizarre armoured predators devour the vulnerable. These are the Carnivores of Arabia's Coral Gardens.

Arabia's coral reefs are home to some of nature's most impressive illusionists: Animals that can transform themselves in the blink of an eye, pulsate with colour and engage in enthralling displays of showmanship.

On a chain of islands off the coast of Oman, summer weather drives nutrients in from the ocean depths where they meet the Arabian sun, causing an explosion of life. Smaller fish spawn, filling the waters with eggs. This sets up a buffet that predators can't resist.

As the sun heats the waters, algae spread across the coral reef and attract thousands of fish.
