Dante's Peak'' is constructed about as skillfully as a disaster movie can be, and there were times when I found it working for me, sort of.
The special effects are top-notch, giving the last half-hour an amusement-park-ride quality, as Pierce (...) takes flight from the rampaging red-hot lava by car, truck and boat.
...you'll be rewarded with some nifty special effects as the mountain throws everything it has at the town: fire, water, air, and earth.
