After decades of lackluster Hellraiser sequels, Bruckner reboots the franchise with Jamie Clayton as a female Pinhead, and some fresh, frightening new ideas.

...enough visual verve and stomach-turning sadism to satiate the Halloween crowd.

Bruckner has a command of oppressive mood, the Cenobite designs are first-rate and some of the movie’s imagery will stay with me for a while.

Fun was had, blood was shed, and no one had to have a safe word.
