Entertaining and unself-conscious enough to stand the test of time...
It's a decent monster movie with tolerable special effects and a fair amount of tension during the action scenes. It also has a strong sense of humor and never takes itself too seriously.
TREMORS bends its movie cliches just enough to keep the action interesting and entertaining.
