Hunters of the South Seas

`Hunters of the South Seas' is a three-part series following writer Will Millard as he explores the people and environment of the Coral Triangle in the Western Pacific. Millard, who speaks fluent Indonesian, will spend a month at a time living with three different communities who all share an ocean life culture. The people he meets include whale hunters, spear fishermen and ocean traders who live in the villages located close to the sea. In Indonesia, Millard meets the Bajau, a formerly nomadic community who are now settling in stilted houses in the sea. He travels to the small village of Lamalera and then goes on to discover the native traditions of the Kula ring.
