La Divertida Noche de los Zombies

...takes a deliciously simple idea [...] and, like Stuart Gordon’s Re-Animator [...] spins off into a lurid, blackly comic nightmare that has as many laughs as it does pure scares.

Return is a movie with some nice, droll opening scenes and the obligatory horrible climax.

The punk attitude, a combination of posturing and self-destructive irony, is a fine match for this most postmodern of zombie movies.

The whole thing is played for laughs, with a pseudohip sense of humor satirizing everything from suburban punks to the military, while delivering a few legitimate chills.
