Kevin Kline är utmärkt som den borttynande George. Han har ett osentimentalt förhållande till sin sjukdom och är helt fokuserad på att bygga sitt hus och sin relation till sonen.

What is remarkable is how Kline and Thomas, in particular, are able to deepen their characters by sheer skill and depth of technique, so that we like them and care what happens to them.

The cast is uniformly excellent and the actors have a way of transcending the material's more ham-fisted moments.
