A twisted and notorious serial killer, who has spent the last 15 years in prison, decides he wants to talk to the police. The murder squad detective isn't so sure on his motivation but unwittingly gains an insight into his mindset.

DS Granger investigates the death of a prisoner which appears to be a clear-cut case of murder. However, Jake Osbourne fears there is a lot more to the case than meets the eye and DS Granger finds her back on the trail of serial killer Brian Wicklow.
