Waking Ned

With its non-starry cast and (...) modest premise, this could so easily have been dwarfed by the big screen, but it's a worthy feature and debutant Jones has a wealth of charming players...

...another one of those delightful village comedies that seem to spin out of the British isles annually.

Waking Ned Devine is an unabashed excursion into feel good territory.

Writer-director Kirk Jones makes an exceedingly slick debut, peopling his story with characters who border on the hackneyed but are generally so engagingly played (...) that he gets away with it more often than not.
